Judy's Story

Judy has worked mainly in the NHS for over 30 years, both as a Physiotherapist and as a Physiotherapy manager, and then as manager for Corby and Kettering District Nurse teams (70 staff).

She initially I worked in a variety of locations including North Staffordshire, Gibraltar and London, gaining a wealth of experience including the acute setting, with patients in intensive care, surgical, medical, orthopaedics, acute geriatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, burns unit, thoracic and renal units, neurosurgery and neuro medical.

From 1984-1985, Judy led a team of trained Physiotherapists, students and support workers, in the management of inpatient medical ward patients (neurological and respiratory conditions) as well as outpatient support for neurological conditions, mainly post CVA (stroke).

In 1986 she had time out due to children and went back in the community, in the Market Harborough area, for a year in 1993 before starting part time in Corby, in 1994. This was primarily seeing a wide variety of neurological outpatients. She extended her musculoskeletal assessment, treatment and management skills through courses and training and was promoted to Physiotherapy Manager for Corby, as well as Professional lead for junior and senior Physiotherapists, across Northamptonshire from 2003-2013.

Judy was then Service Manager for Corby and Kettering District Nurses, Corby Collaborative team (CCT) and administrative staff from 2013-2018. This enabled her to gain insight into the wider health economy and develop her management skills further. During this time Judy undertook a MSK caseload including the joint assessments of housebound patients within the community, to both assess and enable their rehabilitation. She was involved with project and service development work collaborating with service users, carers, other health professionals, local GPs and commissioners as part of the CCT, Palliative and end of life care, and also as part of a Falls prevention group.

All of our reviews are voluntary, from patients whom have undergone treatment and no rewards are offered in any way. You can see the originals on our google reviews.

More recently Judy has worked as a First Contact Physiotherapist, in Leicestershire, using Physiotherapy assessment and differential diagnosis skills for mainly musculoskeletal issues, to enable patients to be given a diagnosis, good initial advice and treatment or to sign post on for further support as necessary. This was working alongside GPs and Practice nurses.

She has brought this expertise to Team Rehab uk where she predominantly serves our NHS First Contact Practitioner services, overseeing the Rockingham Forest District. For this reason she may not appear on our booking for private patients.

Judy has significant experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders with a comprehensive, broad based knowledge and skill set, for many conditions. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), both which ensure safe and professional working standards, of a high level, at all times.

Judy is married, with 2 grown up children, and grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way. Her favourite past times are gardening, walking, travel and visiting gardens. In fact she and her husband have opened their gardens, along with many other villagers, on a regular basis, over the last 20 years.

She is involved with village life and has been a member of the PCC for 25 years.
